3. Payments & Refunds

Refund Policy

  • Refunds are not normally provided once a session has started

  • Exceptions may be made in cases of verified technical failure caused by the platform

4. Host & Advisor Earnings (Including Legal Advisors)

4.1 Independent Status

All hosts, advisors, and professionals (including legal advisors) operate as independent contractors.

They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Wight Chat.

4.2 Setting of Fees

Hosts and advisors are solely responsible for:

​

  • Setting their own per-minute rates

  • Determining the services they provide

​

Wight Chat does not control or set pricing.

4.3 Platform Fees (Commission)

                  Wight Chat charges a platform service fee on all paid interactions.

​

  • A percentage fee is deducted from all earnings

  • This fee applies to pay-per-minute sessions, video interactions, and paid messaging where applicable

Example: If a session is charged at £X per minute, the host/advisor receives their earnings minus Wight Chat’s platform fee and any applicable taxes.

4.4 Payment Processing

  • All client payments are collected by Wight Chat

  • Earnings are calculated after deduction of:

    • Platform fees

    • Payment processing costs (if applicable)

    • Taxes (where applicable)

4.5 Payout Schedule

Payouts to hosts and advisors will be issued:

​

  • On the 1st of each calendar month

  • Covering the previous month’s earnings

​

Wight Chat reserves the right to:

​

  • Apply minimum payout thresholds

  • Delay payouts in cases of fraud review or disputes

4.6 Responsibility for Services Provided

Hosts and advisors are solely responsible for:

​

  • The content of their sessions

  • Any advice, guidance, or information provided

​

Wight Chat does not accept liability for:

​

  • The accuracy of advice

  • Outcomes resulting from consultations

4.7 Professional & Legal Compliance

Any advisor offering regulated services (including legal advice) must:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Ensure they are properly qualified where required

  • Only provide services they are legally permitted to offer

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the platform to:

  • Conduct illegal activities

  • Share unlawful, abusive, or obscene content

  • Harass or exploit other users

Respect for the Isle of Wight community and all users is mandatory.

Violation of these rules may result in:
